THE CANTILEVER HOUSE
Mason Drive, Tairua, Coromandel, NZ.
Perched ontop of a steep ridgeline the brief was to take advantage of the panoramic views overlooking the Tairua river and Mt Paku some forty metres above sea level. The cedar and concrete clad Cantilever House can be seen from a distance as an integrated part of the existing ridge line as it floats above protected Kanuka and Manuka while functioning as a sustainable and space efficient family beach house.
